Lakkhan loki tap ne karde Lakkhan pyar muhabbat vi; Lakkhan teri pooja karde Lakkhan lok ibadat vi. Lakkhan loki ved granthan da pae path sunande ne; Lakkhan loki ban udasi van vich jog kamande ne. Lakkhan la chupchap Samadhi tera pae dhyan dharan; Lakkhan maya daulat wale lakkhan hi pun-daan karan. Par meri tan himmat nahi ey teri mehar shumar karan; Jaan vi eh tan teri ey main kehrhi jaan nisar karan. Oho kamm suhauna jape samjhen changi kar toonhi; Avval akhar kayam dayam ik toonhi nirankar toonhi. |

Millions of people undergo austerities and millions love and adore Thee; Millions worship Thee and millions offer prayers too. Millions of people recite the Vedas and other scriptures; Millions of people become ascetics and sit in meditation in forests. Millions sit in trance and contemplate upon Thee; Millions of rich people offer countless charities and make donations. But I am incapable of measuring Thy boundless grace; Even this life belongs to Thee, what life can I offer unto Thee? Only that act seems to be noble which meets Thy kind approval; Thou Formless one-Nirankar art immortal and eternal. |
Meaning
Lakhs of people go through suffering to please You and lakhs have immense love for You. Lakhs offer prayers to You and lakhs bow in respect for You. Lakhs of priests read and recite the Holy Scriptures. Lakhs of people become ascetic and resort to the forest for penance. Lakhs of people perform silent mediation of You to please You, and attain You. Lakhs of peoples with worldly riches perform charity in Your name. But I do not have the ability to sing Your praise. My life itself is a gift from You, then what can I to surrender. Only those deeds are praiseworthy, which are done in Your name. You and only You are immortal, omnipresent and formless, present in all planes of time and space.
